"The only thing new is the history we don't know." Harry Truman
The mission of the North Platte Valley Historical Association is to collect, preserve, and interpret artifacts and documents pertaining to the history and settlement of the North Platte Valley. We carry out this mission by operating a museum and archive within our facility.
The North Platte Valley Historical Association/Museum is a private non-profit organization. We do not receive, city, county or state funding, other than a credit on our city electric/water bill (thank you, City of Gering!). We rely on memberships, donations, admissions, memorials, foundations, and corporate sponsorships for operating funds and on volunteer assistance for the bulk of museum operations.
We could really use your help! Here are some ways you can contribute to preservation of history in this region: become a member, make a donation or gift us something from our wish list, become a volunteer.
